Discussion topics are determined by a democratic vote at the beginning of the meeting, so come prepared with a topic or two you’d like to discuss. One topic that is coming to this month’s meeting is: “Should we continue to have a city-wide meeting, or narrow the focus to neighborhoods or quadrants?”
You’re invited to bring finger food to share. Out of respect for Kailash policies, please bring only vegan foods and remove your shoes as you enter the meeting space.
The purpose of this seed group is to form connections with others interested in intentional community of all types, from ecovillages to community supported agriculture projects, either rural or urban. We will not focus on any one project, but share information, resources, and provide a space for people with similar vision to meet and talk. We meet the 3rd Wednesday of each month, space permitting.

Portland Intentional Community Seed Meeting is an incubator group with a vision to foster the birth and growth of Intentional Communities all over the Pacific Northwest and around the world. We desire to form connections with others interested in intentional community of all types, from ecovillages to community supported agriculture projects to neighborhood collectives, either rural or urban. We will not focus on any one project, but share information, resources, and provide a space for people with similar vision to meet and talk. Our hope is that this group will inspire the formation of many projects, and any project groups that form may end up meeting more or less frequently at their own discretion.
Some of the topics we’ve discussed:
What is a “shared value”?
The importance of shared values.
How to inspire others to commit to taking action on shared values.
What is the scope of “community”?
We hold meetings the 3rd Wednesday of each month, and welcome volunteer facilitators so we can enjoy many different perspectives at our meetings.
